How Do People Define Health?

Health is the absence of disease or infirmity. In the World Health Organization (WHO), health is defined as “a state of complete physical and mental well-being.” Different definitions have been used over the centuries. Some define health as “a condition of full social and emotional well-being”. Others define health as the absence of infirmity. Whatever you want to call it, a healthy person is happy and in good physical and mental condition.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as the absence of illness or injury, the ability to cope with stress and the capacity to maintain relationships. It also refers to a person’s physical and mental capacities. The definition of health varies by individual, cultural, and environmental factors. In general, though, the simplest definition is “a state of complete physical and mental wellbeing.” Some people may define health as complete happiness and joy while others may use the term health to describe a disease or injury.

There are several ways to define health. The World Health Organization’s constitution states that health is complete well-being and is not dependent on race, religion, economic status, or sexual orientation. Although there are no universal definitions of health, it is possible to use a biopsychosocial model to understand how people define it. However, in this article, we will focus on the concept of “well-being” as a part of defining health.
